Angela Martinez Obituary, Resident of Wacol Sumner Park, Passed Away Peacefully

Angela Martinez Obituary, Death – Angela Martinez, also known as “Nana,” passed away at the age of 53 on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at her mother’s residence in West Jordan, Utah. Her passing was abrupt and unexpected. Pat E. and Angie, Angie’s parents, brought her up in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she received a kind upbringing. Martinez and Manuelita “Mela” Martinez, who she had a very strong relationship with throughout her life.

Her stepmother Kathy Martinez and her stepfather Leo B. Duran both had a great deal of affection for Angela. She was a single parent who was responsible for the upbringing of her three children, the eldest of whom, Andrew Dean Ficklin, was her sole son and her pride and pleasure. Her eldest daughter, Briana Natasha Martinez, is also the most like her, together with her stunning infant daughter, Amanda Angel Ficklin.

She had a lot of fun kidding around and cracking jokes with her biological brothers and sisters, including Laverne (and Anthony), Patrick, Cindy, Juanita, Joseph (and Rubi), and Anthony (and Aimee), as well as her stepbrothers, Rudy, Leo, and Darry. She also enjoyed spending time with her stepbrothers. After the birth of her first grandchild, she devoted the rest of her life to the role of “Nana” to her subsequent grandchildren Natalia, Penelope, Joe, Eli, Lucious, Aiden, Adrian, and her unborn angel baby, Benny.

She cherished the time she got to spend on the phone chatting with Darren, Isaiah, Tifani, Cody, and anyone else to whom she might impart information. Anyone who knew Angela is aware of what a large heart she has. If she knew it would make you happy, she wouldn’t think twice about giving you her very last if she had the chance. She had the sweetest disposition possible and delighted in making other people laugh. She exuded an aura of comfort that was difficult to put into words.

Today, we reflect on all of the wonderful times we shared with her in the past. A magnificent and compassionate person was laid to rest. She had affection for each of us! A viewing will be conducted prior to the funeral service from 12:00 pm until 12:45 pm on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, which is located at 4760 South State Street in Murray, Utah. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm.
