Arlan Vines Obituary, 83, Resident Of Pierpont Has Passed Away

Arlan Vines Obituary, Death – Andover Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation was the final resting place for Arlan M. “Lucky” Vines, 83, who lived in Pierpont and passed away on July 3, 2023. He was the son of Woodrow and Opal (Butts) Vines and was born on April 7, 1940 in Oneonta, Alabama.During his time in the United States military, Arlan worked for the Air Force.

The SOHIO gas station owned by Bob Holl was where he worked. Later, he joined Koski Construction, where he stayed until his retirement 25 years later. He worked for the Ashtabula County Water Department for ten years after he had retired. In his 50s and 60s, he raced dirt motorcycles and took his beloved Shelby Mustang to Thompson drag racing and car exhibitions at the lake. His quick wit and infectious grin made him a fan favorite. He was quite knowledgeable about mechanics and liked to teach others.

At the TV Land Motocross event in Pierpont, Arlan lent a hand to his son Trevor. His family includes the woman he wed on January 22, 1972, Connie (Fortune), his son Trevor (Clorice), his daughter Stephanie, his grandchildren Tyler (Amber), Cameron, Braydon, and Zoe, his step-grandchildren Taylor and Justin, and his great-grandchildren Ella and Cali. His parents and sister Betty Helfer and niece Tonya Fultz all passed away before him. There will be a private memorial service at a later time. The Shiners Hospital, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, Pennsylvania 16505, is accepting donations in memory of the deceased. Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, located at 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
