Arthur Brasill Obituary, Death- After suffering from declining health for some time, Arthur P. Brasill, Sr., age 88, from Hanson, died away in a calm and peaceful manner on June 20, 2023 with his family by his side. He was devoted to his wife of 67 years, Margaree (Rowell) Brasill, throughout their marriage. He was the son of the late Paul S. and Josephine (Gorman) Brasill, who passed away before his birth on June 9, 1935 in Brockton.

At the age of 18, Arthur enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1953. He was stationed in Miami, Florida, which is where he first met his future wife, Margie. He often spoke about how proud he was of his time spent serving our nation and how much it meant to him. They made the move to his hometown of Brockton in 1956, and it was there that they resided and brought up their children. Up to the time of his retirement, he worked as a sheet metal worker for Local 17.

In addition to his wife, Margie, Arthur is survived by his children, Ronald Brasill of Brockton, Pamela Berglund and her husband Richard of Easton, Arthur Brasill, Jr. and his wife Lorna of Bridgewater, James Brasill and his wife Pamela of East Bridgewater, and Terri Creney and her husband Michael of Hingham; his sisters, Marion Kelliher of Easton, and June Brasill of Brockton; his Sister-in-law Brenda Pettry and her husband Carmie of Alabama. fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and a large number of nieces and nephews. Additionally, he was the Father-in-law of the late Nancy Brasill, who had been Ronald Brasill’s wife, the Brother-in-law of the late Bill Rowell of Alabama, and the Great-grandfather of Jordan McGrath-Edlund, who had also passed away.

On Tuesday, June 27, at 10:00 a.m., there will be a funeral ceremony performed at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, which is located at 441 Main St. (Rt. 28), in West Bridgewater. After the service, the deceased will be laid to rest in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton with full military honors. Visitation hours will be held on Monday, June 26th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
