Bobby Combs Obituary, Remembering the Life and Legacy of Mr. Bobby C. Combs: A Life Well-Lived

Bobby Combs Obituary, Death – Mr. Bobby C. Combs, aged 84, peacefully passed away on Friday morning, July 7, 2023, at Baptist Health-Richmond. Born on April 11, 1939, in Madison County, Kentucky, he was the cherished son of the late Conley C. and Ethel Jackson Combs.

After graduating from Madison Central High School in 1957, Bobby ventured to Washington D.C., where he contributed his skills to the fingerprinting department of the F.B.I. and served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Returning to Richmond, he lovingly cared for his parents while embarking on a successful career in the Auto Parts Industry. Bobby retired as the manager of Carquest Auto Parts in Richmond.

Bobby and his beloved wife Bertha were active members of The Rosedale Baptist Church. He served as a greeter and participated in various committees, while also being a dedicated supporter of the University of Kentucky as a member of the 101 Club.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife Bertha; his daughters, Carla Sandusky (Jeff) and Jennifer Davis (Scott); his son, James S. Combs; seven cherished grandchildren: Alicia Deaton, Libby Deaton, Bryson Combs, Sarah Combs, Ashleigh Davis, Cameron Combs, and Isabella Davis; three great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Martha Combs, and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby was predeceased by his parents and six sisters: Allie Mae Combs, Gladys Newland, Dorothy Shelton, Norma Williams, Ruby Roberts, and Thelma Bishop, as well as two brothers: Ed and Chandler Combs.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at The Rosedale Baptist Church, with Dr. Derek Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Tuesday evening at the church.

Pallbearers will be Bryson Combs, Cameron Combs, Steve Rhodus, Craig Robinson, Donorvan Grider, Louis Potts, and Marvin Ridner. Honorary Pallbearers include Bobby’s nieces, nephews, and his lifelong friend, Lloyd Rhodus.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Rosedale Baptist Church in Richmond, Kentucky.
