Dan Nicholson Obituary, Death – Dan Nicholson is no longer alive. “Sometimes life is so unfair,” a social media user writes. I recently learned that my first mentor, who motivated me to pursue my master’s degree and become the scientist I am today, passed away quietly last Friday. He was my first teacher. Dan Nicholson’s name was Dan Nicholson, and he died at the age of 47.
It breaks my heart to realize that Dan is no longer with us. He was not only an excellent researcher and guide, but also a devoted friend, father, son, and brother. I have no doubt that Dan made a positive difference in the lives of everyone he ever met. I am heartbroken for his family, and I genuinely hope that I will be able to attend his memorial ceremony on Sunday.
I will never forget him or the huge influence he had on my life. When I was a student at the University of Iowa, I responded to a flyer looking for a research assistant, which is how I first met Dan. Dan was my number one supporter when I initially started doing research, and he was a very amazing person. He told me that he believed in me and was convinced that I would accomplish great things in the coming years. He represented everything I wished I could be.
