Dan attended Warren Mott High School and grew up in the Warren area of Michigan. He continued his education in the profession he loved at Oklahoma State University, where he established the groundwork for a tremendous career. Dan has been involved in young sports for almost 30 years, volunteering with groups like Roseville Jr. Sports and the Oakland-Macomb young Football Association.

Both his players and his other coaches have the utmost respect for his dedication and passion for the game of football. Everyone who had the pleasure of working with Dan was inspired by his infectious enthusiasm for the sport. Every student he mentored knew him simply as “Coach.”

Dan’s passion for the outdoors did not stop at the football field. He sought peace on the water, whether competing in the Mackinac Races or just relaxing on any boat he could get his hands on. He was an accomplished coach and sailor, but he also knew how to do a wide variety of other things.
