Debra Sagnella, lovingly known as Uber Deb, has peacefully passed away surrounded by family and friends. Her loved ones express their gratitude to all who supported and believed in her.

The doctors acknowledged her unwavering fight, acknowledging that she surpassed expectations. While she may be gone, she will never be forgotten. Her family kindly requests that you share your cherished memories of her.

Debra Marie Sagnella, aged 61, of East Haven, embraced her final peace on June 29th, 2023, at Yale – New Haven Hospital, with her devoted family by her side. A month ago, she had established a GoFundMe page to seek support during her battle against lung cancer.

Born in New Haven on June 24th, 1962, Debra epitomized the essence of a nurturer. She effortlessly played the roles of mother, godmother, caregiver, and chauffeur, always there to lend a helping hand or prepare a delicious meal. Later in life, she gained recognition as “Uber Deb,” captivating a wider audience with her infectious personality and genuine kindness.

Debbie is survived by her sister Denise Sagnella, niece Maria Dohna, and her closest friends Wanda (Mark Rosa) Candela and Jen Gaetano. She was a loving godmother to Vinny (Toni) and Jerry (Jen) Esposito and their children Tyler, Jordan, and Daphne. Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins also mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Donna Dohna.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, July 5th, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at East Haven Memorial Funeral Home, located at 425 Main Street. Debra will be laid to rest alongside her parents and sister at All Saints Cemetery, forever resting in peace.
