Deirdre Morris Obituary, Death – Deirdre R. Morris, 30, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Deirdre’s proudest accomplishments in life were being a loving mother, a dedicated wife, and a cherished member of her family.
With her infectious personality and expressive face, Deirdre had a remarkable ability to brighten any room she entered. She treasured moments spent swimming, hunting with her father, and enjoying the beach with her loved ones.
Playing in the snow with her son and riding in her husband’s beloved 59 Ford pick-up truck brought her immense joy. Deirdre also found delight in antique shopping, playing board games with family, coloring, visiting pumpkin patches, and decorating for Christmas.
A faithful member of the Mount Washington Church of God and an active supporter of the Twisted Pink Breast Cancer organization, Deirdre embraced her community and made a positive impact on those around her.
Deirdre is survived by her grandmother, Charlotte Scrogham; her Papaw and Nanny, Bruce and Esther Marcum; her loving husband, Austin Morris; her adored son, Lance; her parents, Johnny and Sheila Bryant; her father and mother-in-law, Jason and Gayle Morris; and her mother-in-law, Heather Raisor.
She is also survived by her sister, Alisha Bodner (Rob); her nephews, Lochlan and Declan; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and her beloved dog, Grace.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James E. Scrogham Sr.; her aunt, Roxann Lawhorn; and her uncle, Michael Bryant.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 1-8pm at McFarland-Troutman-Profitt Funeral Home, 111 North Bardstown Road, Mount Washington, KY 40047.
A funeral service will take place at 11am on Tuesday at McFarland Funeral Home, followed by interment at Mount Washington Memorial Cemetery. A celebration of Deirdre’s life will be held at the Mount Washington Church of God, where she kindly requests that attendees bring smiles to honor her memory.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Twisted Pink Breast Cancer Organization for cancer research would be greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
