Mama, who was loved by our family in all of her roles as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother, passed away recently. It is with heavy heart that we share the news of her passing with you. Eileen Cavanagh (née Wood) Eileen Cavanagh Sunrise: 04/11/1925. Sunset: 20/06/2023 She was the daughter of Eric Wood, who passed away, and Mereana Dean, who also lost away. Both of her parents had also passed away.

Beloved wife of the late Fred Cavanagh, who predeceased her in 2013, she passed away. Mother of Lilian McKenzie and her husband David, Dora and her husband Russell Warren, the late Mereana and Ray Hams, Bobbie and her husband Les Hunter, Barabra Arbon and her husband Peter Robson, Helen T. Muir, Denniss and Susan Cavanagh, Erica Rose Palmer and her husband Kelvin, and Peter and Margaret Cavanagh.
The wake and lying in state for Mama Eileen will take place at the residence of Erica and Kelvin in Manurewa, which can be found at 86 Great South Road. On the evening of Friday, June 23, at seven o’clock, there will be a memorial ceremony for relatives and friends conducted in the Manahiki Hall, which is located at 23 Lovegrove Crescent in East Tamaki.
The farewell service will take place on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Manukau Memorial Gardens, which can be found at Manukau at 357 Puhinui Road. After the service, some small refreshments will be offered for those who attended. If you are able to pay your respects and join the family in celebrating Mama Eileen’s 97th birthday, they would be grateful if you could be there to do so.
