Eric Brennan Obituary, Death – Eric Douglas Brennan, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, peacefully passed away in his sleep from cancer on Monday, June 26, 2023, in Burlington, ON at the age of 52.
His indomitable spirit and unwavering determination in battling his illness stemmed from his deep love and devotion to his family, as he cherished every moment spent with them.
In his final days, surrounded by his loved ones, Douglas displayed remarkable strength and found solace, free from pain, as he prepared for his final journey.
Born on May 16, 1971, in Summerside, PEI, Douglas brought warmth and kindness into the lives of all who knew him. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Angela Wu, and together they were blessed with a precious daughter, Cate, who brought immense joy to his life.
Douglas is survived by his devoted mother, Stella Brennan, his supportive sister, Angele Brennan, and his brothers Sean and Marc Brennan. Their shared memories of Douglas are filled with love, laughter, and an unbreakable bond of family.
With a successful career spanning over 20 years in the hospitality industry, Douglas was highly regarded for his contributions. His association with Sheraton since 2000 saw him rise from his humble beginnings at the Westin Resort in Macau, China, to the esteemed position of General Manager at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Pearson International Airport.
Throughout his tenure, Douglas exemplified leadership, leaving a lasting impact on the Sheraton brand. His passion for hospitality and genuine care for his team will forever be remembered across the international Sheraton hotels he guided, especially in China.
Douglas was a proud alumnus of KISH High School in Kensington, PEI, as well as the University of New Brunswick and the University of Phoenix, where he obtained his MBA.
Known for his intellectual curiosity, resilience, and generosity, Douglas will be fondly remembered by friends, family, and colleagues for his unwavering kindness and enduring optimism.
In honoring Douglas’s memory, a funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at St. John’s Church in Burlington, ON. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of this extraordinary man who touched so many hearts.
