Helen Jones Obituary, Helen D. Jones, 85, of Somerset, KY, Passes Away, Leaving a Legacy of Love

Helen Jones Obituary, Death – Helen D. Jones, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, peacefully departed this life on July 4, 2023, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

She was born on February 22, 1938, in Mintonville, KY, to Clyde Dalton and Martha Jasper Dalton. On September 2, 1959, she exchanged vows with her husband, Kenneth Jones, at Meadow Creek Baptist Church in Wayne County.

Helen devoted several years to Slate Branch, where she taught Sunday School from Kindergarten to Juniors. She was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

A dedicated homemaker and mother, Helen cherished her family. She also served as a cook for Pulaski County Board of Education. In her leisure time, she enjoyed engaging in Word Search and working on Crossword Puzzles, finding solace and enjoyment in the pursuit of knowledge.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Kenneth G. Jones of Dallas, TX, Michael R. Jones of Middlesboro, KY, and Larry E. Jones of Somerset, KY; five grandchildren: Maegan (Bill) Thacker, Andrew (Ashley) Jones, K.C. (Bobbieann) Jones, Jessica (Austin) Farmer, and Jacob Jones; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beulah (Hulun) Jones of Amhurst, OH. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth O. Jones, and several siblings.

Visitation to pay respects to Helen Jones will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. The funeral service, officiated by Bro Jamey Epperson, will follow at 7:00 pm. A private graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
