Jessica Barnum Obituary, Death – In loving memory of Jessica Barnum, a cherished soul who departed from our lives unexpectedly on Monday, June 19, 2023, in Mount Pleasant. Born on July 24, 1979, Jessica’s journey began, and her presence enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Jessica’s educational journey led her through Bullock Creek Schools of Midland and Odyssey High School. It was during her time at Odyssey High School that she crossed paths with Ronald Fort, the father of her beloved children. Later in life, Jessica found her eternal companion in Matthew Miller, with whom she shared her joys and sorrows.

As a devoted stay-at-home mom, Jessica’s world revolved around her family and her cherished dog, Cruise. Her heart overflowed with love for her children, Mikayla VanOrden, Mikenzie VanOrden, and Wyatt Fort. She eagerly anticipated the arrival of her two grandchildren, a source of immense joy and excitement.

Jessica’s memories will forever remain etched in the hearts of her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her mother, Robin Barnum, and grandparents, Calvin “Smoke” and Barbara Knapp. Left to cherish her memory are her father, Gary VanOrden, her siblings, Melissa Barnum and Ted Chatfield of Mount Pleasant, Nick and Kim Barnum of Shepherd, Eric and April Barnum of Mount Pleasant, and her adoring nieces and nephews, Hayley Harvey, Breeann Barnum, Dakota Chatfield, Sienna Chatfield, Miah Chatfield, Chayton Chatfield, Zach Haggart, Johnathon Downs, Dylan VanOrden, Barbara VanOrden, and Jayda Downs.

A memorial lunch to celebrate Jessica’s life will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Greendale Township Hall, beginning at 11 am. In this gathering, we will share stories, laughter, and tears, reminiscing about the beautiful moments we shared with Jessica.

Jessica’s absence leaves an indescribable void in the lives of her family and friends. Her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever cherished. May she find eternal peace, and may her spirit guide and watch over us until we are reunited once more.
