Joseph Kelly Obituary, Joseph Kelly Killed In Rear-End Crash On Long Island Involving Garbage Truck, School Bus
Joseph Kelly Obituary, Death – It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Joseph Kelly, who lost his life in a devastating collision involving multiple vehicles on Monday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:50 a.m. at the intersection of Express Drive South and Motor Parkway in Hauppauge, Suffolk County. Joseph’s life was abruptly cut short in this rear-end crash, which involved a garbage truck, a school bus, and three other vehicles.
According to the Suffolk County Police Department, the garbage truck was traveling eastbound on Express Drive South when it collided with a Honda Accord that had come to a stop at a red light on Motor Parkway. Tragically, Joseph, the driver of the Honda Accord and a resident of West Islip, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The impact of the collision also resulted in the garbage truck sideswiping a school bus and subsequently rear-ending a Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing the Jeep to become wedged in the front of the truck.
Additionally, a Toyota Matrix was struck by the Jeep, causing it to spin and collide with a utility pole. The drivers of the Jeep and Toyota sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the school bus and the three toddlers onboard remained unharmed.
Jaswinder Singh, the driver of the garbage truck from Bellerose, emerged unscathed from the crash. Authorities issued multiple summonses to Singh. It is important to note that the garbage truck involved in the incident was not contracted by the Town of Islip, as confirmed by an official.
During this difficult time, we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Joseph Kelly. May they find strength and comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him, and may Joseph’s soul rest in eternal peace.
