Joseph McDonough Obituary, Funeral Service Information

Joseph McDonough Obituary, Death- On Monday, July 3, 2023, Joseph Dennis McDonough, Jr. unexpectedly died away at Geisinger Wyoming Valley in the midst of his beloved family. Joseph Dennis McDonough, Jr. had been a patient at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. Joseph Dennis McDonough, Jr. and Judith Marie Solomon welcomed their son into the world on January 11, 1976 in Wilkes-Barre. He was named after his father.

E.L. Meyers High School awarded Joseph his diploma in the year 1994. Joseph was the kindest and most doting uncle that his nieces and nephews could ever want to have. He was a committed son, a concerned and caring brother, and a loving and devoted father. Everyone who knew Joseph understood that he gave his absolute best effort in whatever he did. Joseph loved with all of his heart, despite the fact that he didn’t always display his feelings. When it came to his son, Tanner McDonough, or his pets, his feelings were definitely brought to the surface. Nothing could compare to the love that Joseph had for them, and nothing ever could.

He was completely dedicated to whatever he did, from washing his vehicles to being what he called a “super fan” of the Philadelphia Eagles or the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. He did it all. Joseph was a wonderful part of the family and an even more wonderful friend. It didn’t matter what you needed help with, you could always depend on him to get it done. His maternal grandparents, Claire Watkins and George Campas, as well as his stepmother, Mary Ann McDonough, and his aunt, Claire Hahn, all passed away before him. His paternal grandparents were Frank and Joan McDonough, while his maternal grandparents were Claire Watkins and George Campas.

His son, Tanner McDonough; his parents, Theron and Judith Solomon and Joseph Dennis McDonough, Sr.; his brother and sister-in-law; and his sister and brother-in-law’s kid. Theron and Caryinna Solomon; his sister Sara and her husband Ronald Woznock, Jr.; his other sister Maureen McDonough; his nieces Juliana Solomon and Fiona Woznock; and a large number of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will miss him terribly.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at McLaughlin’s, which is located at 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. The celebration of Joseph’s life will take place the following day. At 6:45 PM, a prayer service will be held, which will be presided over by Father Joseph Kearney, who is a close family friend.
It is suggested that memorial contributions be sent to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, since this will respect Joseph’s memory.
