McCown, who resided in Lincoln, Nebraska and was born in Nebraska City, Nebraska, passed away on July 2, 2023 at the age of 65, leaving behind family and friends who will miss him deeply. His grandfather Lola, his father Warren McCown, his brothers Ron McCown, Rick McCown, and Danny McCown, his grandmother Lola, and his niece Nicole McCown all passed away before him. His parents, Warren McCown and Kathleen McCown (Chappell), were among those who died before him.

His wife Kathy McCown, his stepchildren Sara King and Mike Schaben (Orlando Taylor), and his sister Vicki Depenbusch (John) are the only members of his family to have survived his passing. Additionally, he is survived by a sizable number of nieces, nephews, relatives, and acquaintances. A memorial service will be conducted at the Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The funeral home is located at 4040 A Street in Lincoln, Nebraska 68510.
