Kevin Wyant Obituary, Resident Of Chillicothe, Died At 62

Kevin Wyant Obituary, Death – Kevin “Red Dog” Duane Wyant, 62, of Chillicothe, passed away in a calm and peaceful manner on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at 9:11 pm while he was a patient at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Kevin “Red Dog” Duane Wyant had lived a full and joyous life shared with his cherished family and friends.

He was the ninth and youngest child of Calvin Chloe and Delores Mable Wyant (Gillespie) and was born on September 6, 1960, in Pleasanton, Kansas. He was the youngest of nine children. His mother and father, together with his siblings Kathi Wyant, Joyce Crowe (Wyant), Doug Wyant, Mike Wyant, and Jon Wyant, all passed away before he did. Also preceding him in death were his siblings. His children Samuel (Amanda) Wyant, Logan Wyant, and Skyelin Wyant, as well as his grandchildren Jude, Harrison, Everett, Izabelle, and Rosie Marie, as well as the mother of his children, Heather Huckaba (Sibley), all survive him.

He has a large number of nieces and nephews who survive him. He spent many years as a volunteer firefighter in Lafayette, where he grew up and worked for many years. As a member of Lafayette Home Nursery’s Prairie Restoration Department, he participated in construction and planted prairie along a number of highways and at Waste Management sites in the midwestern United States. Kevin and his wife Heather Sibley tied the knot at the Church of the Nazarene on July 1, 1989, and the couple now has three children together.

When Kevin became a grandfather, he was very attached to his grandchildren and felt that becoming a father was the greatest accomplishment of his life. The fact that he passed away on Father’s Day is a fitting way to recognize his sacrifice and dedication to his family and friends. All of those who had the opportunity to interact with him remember him as someone who had a zest for life and a dogged determination to love and care for the many individuals who had shown him the same.

Kevin wished for a straightforward memorial service to honor his life, which will take place at Valley Lakes (13929 N Ivy Lake Rd) in Chillicothe, Illinois on August 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., as per his instructions. Rituals associated with cremation have been performed. His last resting place will be in Lafayette Cemetery, right close to the graves of his parents. The ashes that are left over will be handed to his children, who will then disperse them across the mountains of Colorado. Cards can be sent via the website, and condolences can be made for the family there as well.
