Laron Self Obituary, Laron Self Has Sadly Passed Away

Laron Self Obituary, Death- On June 18, 2023, at the age of 99, Laron Easton Self, Sr. passed away peacefully in the comfort of his own home. He was a veteran of World War II and had previous experience working as a Pastor. After living in Chicago for the first 37 years of his life, he moved to Pontotoc, Mississippi, to start a new chapter in his life.

He was a devout member of the Midway Baptist Church in addition to being a dedicated husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, and great-great-grandpa. Additionally, he was blessed with great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include his four daughters, Dianne Barrowman(Don), Josie Scott(David), Tessa Flournoy, and Loretta Jane Graham-Giles; 2 daughters-in-law, Wanda Rutledge and Jill Self; 2 sons, Larry Self, Jr.(Laura) and Gary Self(Heidi); a son-in-law, Mike Bell; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Lilly Self Ashworth and Lamar Self.

All of his immediate family members, including his parents, his wife Opal Self, his brothers William, Vardamin, and Aaron Self, and one sister named Mary Frances, as well as his sons Tommy and Robert Self, daughter Melinda Bell, grandson SSgt-John T. Self, and granddaughter Robin Miller, all passed away before he did. His parents were farmers, and his wife was named Opal. His daughter Melinda Bell, his grandson SSgt. John T. Self, and his granddaughter Robin Miller are the ones who carry on his legacy.

On the 24th of June, 2023, at eleven in the morning, the funeral services are going to be performed at the West Heights Baptist Church in Pontotoc. At the Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, visitors are welcome to pay their respects on Friday, June 23, from 4 to 8 o’clock in the evening. They will have the opportunity to pay their respects at the West Heights Baptist Church on Saturday, June 24, beginning at 10 AM and continuing until the commencement of the service. Following the conclusion of the ceremony, the burial will take place in the West Heights Baptist Church Cemetery. The Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is the one in charge of making the necessary preparations at this time.
