Leroy Percle Obituary, Death – On June 30, 2023, Leroy Joseph Percle, who was 91 years old at the time of his passing, passed away at home while surrounded by his family and the woman he had been married to for 71 years. Visitation will begin at twelve o’clock noon on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, and will continue until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at one o’clock in the afternoon. Relatives and friends of the family are welcome to attend.
After the service, burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Kathleen Caillouet Percle, Leroy’s wife, as well as their children Glynn Percle (Judy), Beth Marcello (Sal), Paula Christiana, and Troy Percle (Lori), as well as their grandchildren Ashley Melancon (Rusty), Leah Richard (Jason), Jude Percle (Lacey), Cody Percle, Blair Robichaux (Jeffrey), Matthew Marcello (Mary), and Catherine Piccirillo He is also survived by a large number of nieces and nephews along with their families, people he cherished spending time with and telling stories to.
Leroy’s parents, Charles Percle, Sr. and Emily Thibodaux Percle, as well as his brothers, Wilbert Percle and Roy Percle, and his grandson, Jacob Lee Marcello, had all passed away before him. After completing his tour of duty as a Sargent (E-5) stateside during the Korean War, Leroy was given an honorable release from the Armed Forces of the United States of America on July 31, 1960. Leroy was the owner and operator of Percle Body Shop, which he had opened in June of 1956, and he took great pride in the fact that he was able to provide a stable and secure existence for his children and their families. His sons, as well as his grandson and granddaughter, are carrying on his heritage.
