Leslie Lewis Obituary, Leslie Lewis Has Passed Away

Leslie Lewis Obituary, Death – Leslie Faye Lewis, who was 71 years old and lived in Freeport, will be laid to rest on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, and Pastor Gene Grear will preside over the ceremony. After the service, burial will take place in the Gulf Coast Cemetery in Clute.

On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Leslie died away in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her family. Bethel Baptist Church was one of the churches that Leslie attended regularly. Her favorite activities included BINGO, cooking, music listening, and Tik Tok dancing. Her grandparents, C.L. Lewis and Rose Lewis, as well as her grandkids, Jeremy Hill and Jadelynn Turner, passed away before her.

Leslie will be remembered fondly by her daughters, Melissa Lewis (Aaron Tanner) of Desoto, Texas, and Roberta Wright of Freeport; step daughter, Lamonica Yarbough of Texas City; sisters, Jerline Lewis of Colorado, Rosemary Hall of West Columbia, Jackie Williams of Texas City, and Ellen Lewis of Freeport; best friend, Carolyn Toney of Lake Jackson; 10 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Leslie passed away on April 15, 2019. The Dixon Funeral Home will be open for visitation on the day of the funeral, Friday, July 7, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
