Melinda Underwood Obituary, 63, Melinda Underwood Has Passed Away

Melinda Underwood Obituary, Death – On July 3, 2023, Melinda Kay Reed Underwood, who had reached the age of 63, passed away. She had lived in Rutherford County all of her life and was a member of the Wards Grove Baptist Church all of that time.

Her father, Jacky Dean Reed, had already passed away before Melinda’s passing. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bill Underwood, her son David Underwood, her mother, Lounette Neely Smotherman, her sisters Tammy (Marty) Dawson, Lisa (Todd) Hackney, and Shannon (Jimmy) Barrett, and her granddaughters, Valorie and Claire Underwood. She also leaves behind her mother, Lounette Neely Smotherman.

Cheerleading and softball were two of her favorite activities when she was younger, but when she got older, she decided to pursue a career in nursing instead. She went on to have a successful career as a nurse aiding people. After she retired, she became an excellent homemaker, a cherished grandmother to her daughters, and took on the responsibility of caring for her husband, who was both her life partner and her closest friend. We are all going to grievously miss her presence among us. A service at the graveside will be held at a later time, and Bro. Jim Paschall will preside over the ceremony.
