Michael Young Obituary, Rehoboth Beach Resident Has Died At 64
Michael Young Obituary, Death – Saturday, June 24, 2023, Rehoboth Beach resident Michael Jay Young died at home. Aged 64. He was born in Milford, Delaware, to Jay and Virginia Young. Michael patrolled Rehoboth Beach with classmates and fraternity brothers during summers at Milford High School and The University of Delaware.
He liked horses and helped his mother train and care for several trotters, helping one of them become famous. Michael worked as a bouncer at the Summer House for two summers of lifeguarding. After working in Florida, NYC, Virginia, and DC, he became a mixologist. After Houston and White, he settled in Rehoboth. All who liked “Hoagie” knew that every story he told had a joyful or amusing ending.
He captivated the bar’s audience with his theatrical presence. Hoagie worked hard and made everyone he dealt with feel comfortable and enjoy their work, as well as his customers. Michael was a good golfer and made money off us less skilled players. He also loved NASCAR, visiting Daytona Florida with his dad and brother to watch the Daytona 500 and several Dover Downs races. Michael is missed forever. Every non-friend wanted to be his friend. Everyone liked his laugh, stories, and kindness.
