Miranda Rodriguez Obituary Houston Texas, Burned skeleton found in BBQ pit identified as woman missing since 2017
Miranda Rodriguez Obituary, Death – Miranda Rodriguez’s charred skeleton remains were recovered in a backyard barbecue pit in July of last year, and they have since been positively identified. In August of 2017, it was reported that Rodriguez, age 24, was missing. The last time her family spoke to her was just moments before Hurricane Harvey inundated the city. ABC13 was there with her parents as they searched for her in the days after the storm.
A laborer who had been hired to clean up the backyard of a property located on Peach Creek Drive in southeast Houston on July 12, 2022 discovered the bones, which were described as belonging to a full skeleton, in a built-in barbecue pit. According to the investigators, the skeletons had been incinerated.
“It’s like a lost soul out there, and nobody found it until now,” the man said to ABC13 at the time. “Nobody found it until now.” It took almost a whole year to determine who the person was. It has been confirmed by the Houston police department that they contacted Rodriguez’s father over the weekend.
ABC13 was informed by a member of the family that they are in disbelief and that they had always held out hope that she would be located alive. Both the cause of death and the method in which it occurred are listed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences as “undetermined.” The inquiry, according to the police, is still taking place.
