The sad news that Richard “Dido” Binding has passed away has caused all of us to feel an overwhelming sense of loss. A phenomenally talented musician who, throughout his seven decades of service with the Band, was responsible for putting a smile on the face of each and every member of the audience that he performed for. His performances were legendary.

He was the band’s first trombone and a founding member. He committed the better part of seven decades of his life to the Band in some capacity or another, despite the fact that the function he played in the Band was rather little. During the course of the band’s performance, he passed away while they were still playing.
