Owner of Beech Grove gun store offers safety advice after seeing a toddler wave a loaded handgun
A gun store owner believes there are ways to keep your kids safe near firearms, days after a toddler was caught on camera waving around a loaded handgun.
The proprietor of Beech Grove Firearms, Garrison Burge, said that the situation “could have progressed in things that God only hopes never happens.”
The 9 millimeter handgun had 15 rounds of ammo, but there was no bullet in the chamber, according to a police report.
Two alternatives are cable locks and trigger locks. Father-of-two Burge claims he never keeps his rifle loaded.
Without a loaded magazine, Burge remarked, “it’s like a car without gas.”
Gun owners in Indianapolis can obtain a gun lock by visiting any public library. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office took the initiative to make it back in 2014.
Additionally, all of the state’s police departments offer free gun locks.
