Phyllis Streb Obituary, Death – Phyllis Ann Streb, a beloved resident of South Bend, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Raclin Center for Hospice in Mishawaka.

She was 92 years old. Phyllis was born on December 25, 1930, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Lloyd and Helen (Ebert) Hart. After graduating from Kendallville High School in 1948, she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship by marrying her soulmate, Richard Alan Streb, with whom she shared 74 wonderful years of marriage. Phyllis dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

Her deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors led her to find joy in gardening, tending to her vegetables, and immersing herself in the beauty of the natural world. Phyllis had a special talent for baking cookies, and her son-in-law was always delighted by her delicious creations.

Phyllis is survived by her cherished daughter, Kathye, and her husband, Grant Davidson, of South Bend, Indiana. She is also survived by her son, James M. II, and his wife, Jennifer Currey, of Arizona, along with her two adored granddaughters, Olivia and Layla Currey.

Additionally, she leaves behind her step-daughter, Tara, and her husband, Rodney Schmitt, of South Bend, Indiana, and her step-son, Matthew, and his wife, Monica Currey, of Granger, Indiana, along with six step-grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved spouse, Richard Alan Streb, and her sister, Donna Acres.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Springfield Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the Raclin Center for Hospice in Mishawaka, Indiana.
