Powell Bart Shooting, 1 Killed, 1 Arrested in Powell St. BART Station Shooting, Police Say
Powell Bart Shooting – According to the San Francisco police, an 18-year-old guy was detained on suspicion of being involved in a gunshot that resulted in a fatality on Thursday night. Daveon Crawford, a citizen of Sacramento, is being investigated in connection with a shooting that occurred at 8:39 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Market and Powell Streets. The victim, a male, was injured in the incident and later passed away in a local hospital.
Following the gunshot on Thursday evening, the entrance to the Powell Street BART station was closed while police investigated the incident. An officer noticed two people between Eighth and Mission streets who matched their description and had gone in a taxicab, according to the police. Dispatchers had broadcast a description of a male suspect who was accompanied by a girl.
After stopping the taxi a few blocks further on Mission Street, the police discovered a handgun in Crawford’s immediate vicinity. After being arrested on accusations of murder, Crawford was put into the San Francisco County Jail. According to the police, the girl who was found to be with him was found to be a juvenile and was returned to a guardian.
It took some time before the authorities were able to release the identity of the person who was killed in the incident. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
