Randy Daniels Car Accident, Carroll, Iowa, Man, 62, Dies In UTV/Van Crash
Randy Daniels Obituary, Death – A man from Glidden was killed yesterday (Tuesday) when the utility van he was riding in collided head-on with the side-by-side off-road vehicle he was driving southeast of Carroll. The accident occurred at a high rate of speed.
According to the information provided by the Iowa State Patrol, Glidden resident Randy Daniel, 62 years old, was operating an eastbound 2022 John Deere Gator at approximately 2:26 p.m. Daniel did not stop when he was required to do so by the stop sign that was posted at the intersection of Olympic Avenue, according to the authorities. Even after taking evasive action, a 2017 Chevrolet Express van being driven northbound on Olympic by Paul Heuton of Carroll, who was 60 years old, was unable to avoid colliding with the UTV on the passenger side despite Heuton’s best attempts. The collision occurred on the passenger side of the UTV.
Following the occurrence, the Gator overturned and landed up in the ditch that is situated to the northeast of the starting point. When Daniel arrived to St. Anthony Regional Hospital, where he was being treated for his injuries, he was in serious condition. This was due to the fact that the Carroll County Emergency Medical Services had to transport him there. Later on, he was taken to a hospital for treatment, but due to the severity of his wounds, he was unable to pull through and ended up passing away. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Carroll Fire Department both contributed additional aid at the scene.
