Samantha Almy Obituary, Samantha J. Almy: A Life of Love, Achievement, and Unforeseen Farewell
Samantha Almy Obituary, Death – Tragically, Samantha J. Almy, aged 53, unexpectedly departed this world on June 25, 2023, at her residence in Naples, Florida.
Born on September 6, 1969, in Leominster, Sam was the beloved daughter of the late Jean Otis (nee Thomasian). She graduated from Ayer High School in 1987 and furthered her education at Brown University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1991. Later, she obtained her MBA from Boston University.
Sam’s professional journey led her to become a certified public accountant, serving as a Senior Vice President at Fidelity Investments until her retirement in 2021.
She cherished her colleagues, whom she considered dear friends, and eagerly embraced retirement to savor the moments with loved ones. Her passions included quality time with family and friends, playing tennis and pickleball, taking art classes, and basking in the sun at the beach.
Sam’s retirement allowed her to embark on the fulfilling endeavor of designing her dream home in Naples, a stunning testament to her meticulous attention to detail.
As an extraordinary mother, Sam delighted in pampering her daughters, Alexis and Olivia, with exquisite meals, beach excursions, and poolside memories during their visits to Naples.
She exemplified a tireless work ethic, instilling in her daughters the value of hard work, and rejoiced as they excelled. Alexis followed in her mother’s footsteps at Fidelity Investments, fostering connections with her mom’s former friends, while Olivia demonstrated a similar passion for STEM, recently completing her freshman year of college.
Sam’s exceptional tennis skills were passed down to her daughters, who triumphantly clinched National Championships during their freshman year with their mother as their greatest cheerleader.
Sam’s devotion extended to her beloved husband of 27 years, Sean, as they savored dining experiences and explored the finest bars for happy hour. Together, they cherished their bernedoodle, Archie, sharing delightful moments at the dog park, leisurely strolls through the neighborhood, and indulging him with tidbits from their meals.
Expressing her love deeply, Sam frequently reminded her cherished ones, “I hope you at least know how much I love you.” Her love was boundless, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Sam’s wish was for her loved ones to embrace joy and love, rather than succumbing to sorrow. They shall strive to honor her memory by forging lives she would be proud of, forever treasuring her presence in their hearts.
Sam is survived by her devoted husband, Sean Almy; her loving daughters, Alexis Almy and Olivia Almy; her father, Richard Otis; her faithful dog, Archie; her adored cats, Bailey and Gracie; and grand-dog, Willow.
Funeral arrangements, privately held, are entrusted to the care of Anderson Funeral Home, located at 25 Fitchburg Rd., Ayer.
