Shorty Lett Obituary, Death – After a brief stay at Gracelands Rest Home, Shorty Lett passed away this morning at 5am. We would like to offer our sincerest sympathies to Shorty Lett’s family and friends on the passing of Shorty Lett.

He passed away at Gracelands Rest Home. He went peacefully into the night. Shorty was a good guy who was always ready with a joke to tell you and always had a joke to tell you about whatever. Shorty made it a habit to bring an extra change of clothes to school with him so that he could wear whatever he wanted while he was there. When his father found out about this, he said to his son, “If you don’t want to go to school, come to work and paint for me.

” Shorty never stopped painting, not even after more than seventy years had passed. In spite of the fact that he had been a member of the Hawke’s Bay Coffin Club for a considerable amount of time, he had been unable to attend meetings over the course of the past few months. We are keeping him and all of his loved ones, especially his family and friends, in our prayers during this difficult time. Our deepest condolences go out to Shorty’s family and friends from everyone at the “Coffin Club.”
