In the beginning of his career as a politician, Marshall held a variety of key roles within the provincial Progressive Conservative Party (PC Party), including those of eastern vice-president, policy chair, president of the party association, and interim leader of the party. These positions were all held during the time that Marshall served as president of the party association.
